hey id like to get some opinions ..on what sort of fire walls most pll run....and do you work them around r.t.c.w so they are active while your doin it ;) kinda interested in your systems you run:naughty: cheerz:beer:

I use my router as a firewall, but I think software FireWalls are better.... You can download for free, Zone Alarm. You can get it @ www.Downloads.com I believe Norton and McAffee make them as well, but Zone Alarm is free... Check it out....

hey m8 ..yere thnx i run a zone alarm myself..i was interested weather the boys are running the firewalls when there playing ..as i run an all seeing eye .programme..and resently had probs with it ,,like the pings were all 999ing....so you do run ur fire wall when playing r.t.c.w or turn it off 4 max connection:naughty: have you ever heard of a thing called cogs>???? in australia were iam hanging out..ive heard the boys say.did you connect to austar shrub server threw cogs? :smokin: thnx 4 ya input m8.ps ive not heard of it:confused:

I never have a firewall running. my Pc-Cillin 2000 scans my system all the time so no need for a fire wal for me:rock: :smack: :cya: :smokin: :cool: :) :D ;) :deal: :naughty: :moon: :sleep: :fistpunch: :dance: :dropsjar: :bows: :assimilate: :n0e: :drink: :agreed

never heard of cogs in that state... But I run Zone Alarm and my router at the same time and have never encoutered any issues with ASE or RTCW....

Just buy a $40 hardware router/firewall. Its better than Software because it doesn't steal cpu cycles or memory from your PC.(Better PINGS for you) Plus in a hardware router you can open certain ports for your games and if you have more than one PC you can run your own home LAN games with ease. I personally run a Server and my Gamer through a $40 D-Link and I don't experience any problems. Just something to think about...
