Are people becoming bored of RTCW?? Is it becoming stale and a bit worn out?? I dunno. I still love it, every now and again I get really pissed off with it and have to leave it for a day or two, but I still love it and have been hooked on it since December 2001 (MP that is. SP was OK but nothing spectacular). I have also noticed that the number of Mods and Maps and stuff have started to dry up on RTCWfiles.com. Is the RTCW Modding scene starting to die??

Love to hear anyones thoughts and opinions as I love this MP game and really dont want it to fizzle out. I have played JK2 online too but that doesnt have a patch on this game.

Also is Soldier Of Fortune 2 MP good in comparison to RTCW???

If have something the same as you. Sometimes I just have to stop a few days because somethings has pissed me off, like I get to much times killed in one game or there are some teamkillers... One time I had to stop for like a month or maybe 2, because my hand was hurting. Don't now if you guys know RSI? In Holland we call it RSI and it is if you do to much time the same thing in the same position you're hand (or sometimes your shoulder) hurts if you just use the computer for something. It wasn't that bad for me then, but I realised I had to stop playing RtCW for a while to give my hand some 'rest'. Not very pleasant because I didn't want to stop then. But since I started playing again I've never had the same problem again.... :)

Ya seems weird that so many mods are droping for RTCW, mostly the reason is because other game engines offer more things that the mod team wants in their mod. Resident evil changed engines and so did RTRC mod....but strange u should say its dying as a few days ago the alpha1 for the WW2 mod came out....hopefully it will be done soon, no mans land, pearl harbor,...alot of mods are out there...takes awhile for full conversions to be complete. I stop for a bit, usually cuz same reasons or just cuz im tired of crashing.....my kernal32.dll errors with wolf_mp.exe alot, but i still love rtcw soooo much that i just ignore it and let it hurt my pc....even tho i spend alot of time trying to fix it i cant seem to find a cure, stupid Windows ME....major pain in the rear

Hi all,

Maybe the imminent news of Enemy Territory has slowed down the modders and mappers. It would be a shame to make a really good map then find it maybe wont be compatible, or need major work, to get to work with ET. (it shouldn't do in theory but what Id does is their business).

I think the extra features of ET will bring out some kick arse mods and maps. I work on PC all day sometimes so I do get shoulder pains etc when I overdose on rtcw.

I don't think rtcw will die, I mean there are still ppl out there playing Q1. However I think mods are limited slightly by the style of the game, it's a WW2 shooter, so if you mod it so much it no longer resembles a WW2 shooter is it still rtcw, or just a game based in the rtcw engine? Whereas Q3 can be modded into all sorts of weird and wonderful styles and still be Q3.

Thems my thoughts for what they are worth

:cya: :cya:

That's a really good point about RTCW. There isnt many variations you can get in a WWII game.

Im really looking forward to RTCW: Enemy Territory. I was really sceptical and a bit pissed off at the fact it was going to become a stand alone game but I saw a few screenshots and it looks just like RTCW so I reckon the new features will inject some new life into the game

Anyway, here are the screenshots I found on the Computer & Video Games website.

Mmmm, if they are going to introduce weapons that are very modern and the technolody didn't existed then yet, I don't like it. But if it are weapons that are developed shortly after WW2, it's fine with me. Unless (like I said) they couldn't have made it in WW2.... Hope you still know what I'm trying to tell. If not, I'll explain it again.....
