Hi,

I know this is gonna sound REALLY lame, but I dont know how to set up the following.

Be a medic, switch from SMG, drop health pack, and back to SMG with single key.

Same with LT but with ammo packs.

Can I also do this with a medic needle?

and grenades?

As you can tell , I've not had the game that long...Help :uhm:

Thanks

The truth is that the binds for which you've asked have little use in gameplay; if you're going to hand out ammo or medpacks, you're more than likely going to give out more than one. Swapping back and forth between weapon and pack takes a lot of time that could be used more productively elsewhere. There's also a limit to how many things your brain can actively remember how to do; I'd recommend using your binds to increase team communication instead.

(Oh... and if you're wondering why you couldn't just build a script that would continually drop packs while you're holding a button down and switch back to your SMG when you release the button, blame Carmack for deciding that the Q3 engine didn't need to support that. Thus, RTCW doesn't, either.)

I won't give you a bind for grenades, because grenades aren't really a tap-the-button weapon. Noone stands still once they see a grenade fly through the air, so a grenade that doesn't explode before they have the chance to move really isn't useful. If you really still want it, figure it out from the bind below, but I'd recommend you learn how to time grenades rather than tap-toss.

Off my soapbox... Depending upon your ping to the server, you have to adjust the number of waits, but the bind for packs for both LT and Medic is the same:

bind x "weaponbank 6; wait; +attack; wait; -attack; weaponbank 3"

Needles are a touchy subject, too... but it's similar with "weaponbank 5", "+movedown", "-movedown" and a couple of extra waits. Needles are *capable* of being used while standing... but they're much more effective when you crouch down for the 1/4 of a second to poke the guy. bind x "weaponbank 5; wait; +movedown; wait; +attack; wait; -attack; wait; -movedown; wait; weaponbank 3"

There's a website all about this somewhere, but I can't find it since I'm at work and don't have my gaming bookmarks handy.

Back up on my soapbox. You're much better learning how to do all of things manually than trying to script them, because you'll be better able to react to less-than-optimal conditions. And nobody likes a team-shooter--- if you forget to adjust your waits, instead of needle-poking or ammo packs, your teammate gets a few rounds of SMG ammo delivered hot and fresh.

So practice. :D You'll find it's easier than you think once you get the hang of the individual actions.

// Auto-Stuff Script // ================= // 1) Copy this script using wordpad/notepad & save the file as //'auto-stuff.cfg' into your Wolfenstein/main folder.

// 2)Drag the 'autoexec.cfg' file (also located in Wolfenstein/main //folder) into a blank notepad & add the line:- //'exec auto-stuff.cfg' (no quote marks!) then save.

// What this script does: //===================== // Soldier: //----------- // a: Automates switching to the grenade and throwing it. // s: unused // d: unused

// Lieutenant: //--------------- // a: Automates switching to the grenade and throwing it. // s: Switches to the Air-Strike canister and throws it. // d: Switches to the Ammo Pack and throws one down. // Keep holding d down to throw multiple packs.

// Engineer: //------------- // a: Automates switching to the grenade and throwing it. // s: Pulls out the pliers and begins using them. Either to arm // or defuse the dynamite. // d: Switches to the dynamite and throws it.

// Medic: //------------ // a: Automates switching to the grenade and throwing it. // s: Switches to the Syringe and uses it. // d: Switches to the Health Pack and throws one down. // Keep holding down d to throw multiple packs.

// Usage: //========== // For each of these keys, either double tap them, or hold //them down for a split second. If you just wish to select the //item in that slot... tap the key once, then tapping //that key again, will use the item.

// *****WARNING***** // If you do not have any grenades left, you will fire your current //weapon once.

//----------------------------------------------------------------- // Edit Keybinds here, changing the a s & d to keys of your choice: //----------------------------------------------------------------- bind a "vstr grens" bind s "vstr smokepliersyringe" bind d "vstr ammohealthdyna" //======================================================== // Do not edit these. //--------------------- set grens " weaponbank 4; +attack; -attack" set smokepliersyringe "weaponbank 5; +attack; -attack" set ammohealthdyna "weaponbank 6; +attack; -attack"

//It's not my script but its so good i wish it was!

Bic's script won't do one thing you asked for, TripleA: Change back to your SMG when he's done. But otherwise, it will allow you to dump multiple packs, since you're effectively issuing the command over and over again.

It does mean tying up a key for something you could do without removing your hand from your mouse.

IMONSHO, I still think that precious keybinds would be better used for communications. But YMMV.
