I had an inspiration. Why not setup a database to keep a TK ratio. Number of complaints / number of games played. When a server is setup, it can set the max tk ratio of the person allowed to play. The database can keep track of the last 6 months of games so there would be a statute of limitations.
So if someone TK's they would end up being restricted to the number of servers they can get on, and you can be assured certain servers would not allow TKs. Basically, they would be limited to servers with FF off only. I think that would definitly put a halt to this. Anyone know if anyone from activision actually reads these things?
Sure could be a step in the right direction...someone will figure out how to abuse it though. In my mind the best way to deal with these idiots is for all in the game to either kick them or abuse them back. One thing that works is to allow them to TK and then file complaint until they kick themselves or play on a server where an Admin is in the game. Alot of times I've seen them make a few kills and then leave cause everyone in the game knows what they are doing and is out to get them. Yup...no one way to deal with them but if we keep brainstorming, we may find the "ultimate" solution to blocking them or correcting their bad attitude.
Complaints are useless. You can file, and get them kicked, but they can rejoin the server
#1 Solution: When kicked, a one week ban from that server.
The other problem is TKers always file complaints (seems messed up). Several times I sit there and kill the TK constantly. All that happens is I get kicked, have to rejoin, and do the same thing.
#2 Solution, If you get killed by a teammate, and file a complaint. You now have permission to kill that teammate, and they can not file a complaint. That way everyone who gets killed by a TK can gang up against him. TK's rely on killing all the teammates, not just the occasional one that killed him. When you start killing the TK, since they can't file a complaint, they can't get you kicked.
And of course someone will find a way around the system, they always do. We all know that TKs are typically players who can't make a kill any other way. These players are less likely to look for a cheat. It would definitly cut down. My earlier solution (banning anyone who gets 15 complaints in a week from multiplayer) would be a very effective solution, but some n00bies may loose their multiplayer.
ok gnaget i was just reading a post where you where on the market garden map and your whole team was killing eachother then revieing, why did you post that you are against it and that you do it? nuthing against you by the way
The only solution to TKers is filtering FF=on servers... Otherwise its a crap shoot.
there is no solution...we will easily filter out all the new blood with this method and the game will starve....if theres a tker...say hes tking or tell em to stop but u must consider the fact that new blood may see them as an enemy on accident...i tked some in the first few weeks because i thought they were enemies...also panzers and flamers have a wide ration and can accidentally tk....if u do that u have hundreds of angry ppl complaining and it will cause nothin but more havoc....how many times to u find a tker thats sould purpose is to tk...ppl run into smoke grenades...ppl run over airstrike zones...ppl run into panzers....u would hinder the game because everyone would be worrying that they would be banned from servers....this subject is pointless to talk about since there is no solution...its like finding a solution to crime....ppl can buy more guns just like ppl can by more RTCW games....pointless....the idea of no tking is great but it is impossible....that way seems extreme and you will probably be banning the innocent half the time...
also a server is a server...all the non-tker servers will be avioded by the common player because of the chance, even tho small if u know what ur doing, of being banned. So servers will spread without it and the others will go down after little activity and the admins rejection of costs. If you make a server that has no tkers aloud.....much more anger will arise.....if you tk once they will complain and moan about you being a tker.....an idea that is impossible but would work is for a computer to monitor the game and see if the person shoots someone intentionally like from a 5 ft radius and it takes him longer than a second to kill then he would be classified as a TKER...and then whenever he went in that server he would have a big TKER text infront of his name...and if he teamkilled at all the second time and it looked susupisious then he would be banned.....or they could place invisible cameras like WolfTV in every spot in the map and dif ppl would moderate dif cameras....then they would review what happened and see if any of them were tkers.....and then give them the tag.....no full solution and no full co-operation.

Wasn't the whole team, just a few of us killing the few who were participating because guarding was just boring. No complaints were files.
I hate TK's
ohh ok i do that all the time =P i just thought you where a skitzo for a minuite
