Been playing for a few months now and I gotta say im addicted. If I dont fire it up at least once a day, I get withdrawal symptoms. Ive been wondering what keeps drawing me back to it, but cant quite put my finger on it. what is RTCW;s secret addictive power??

BTW, im a refugee from the UT mod Strike Force, you may of heard of it. Its a team game but not in the same mould as RTCW. My clanmates in SF curse the day I found RTCW as I really dont wanna play SF anymore.

wow 10 hrs....u are abusive addicts lol...the reason why it is so fun is the reason why anything virtual is fun. First you get to go and shoot other people, even though u seem not to want to, and thats what the human instinct likes. Also exploring or going places or really doing anything without getting hurt or anything but with something close to the same feel....thats why everyone plays videogames, to get away from there life, if they had alot of exciting things going on in there life they would probably not play games....its not an opinion, its a fact.

Yes Warrior, I understand the psychological reason why we like to play video games; but what makes us play RTCW? For instance, I played the Demo of Quake 3 and it did nothing for me. RTCW on the other hand, i cant stop playing. Its not just about visuals as Quake 3 was pretty eye candy and its not just shooting people as there are loads of FPS that I dont play. The only thing I can think of is the class/teamplay aspect of RTCW, that draws me back.

recently i have been playing Mohaa, avp2, revisited quake3 (sux now), Sof2, america's army, and Counter strike. I kinda play CS often and Mohaa now and then, but RTCW is the only one that i play every day without fail. I dunno why, i aslo cannot put my finger on it. I play Depot on the same server all the time, i dont play any other maps, you wooould think the repetitiveness would get boring but it dont. I onloy started playing RTCW a lot since i got good at it so maybe that comes into it. U aint gonna play a game a lot if you suck at it

I tried America's Army but I can't get past that training map where your inside the building. I completed the first few stages, gun training, obstacles, other weapon training, building/night vision training, but the training after that doesn't work! I just get redirected back to the main menu :(

some of the training maps in americas army dont work yet, you can play online once you have completed the basic training. Sniper training will be in the next update
