Is it possible to make certain objects completely invisible in RtCW? For instance, let's say I wanted to make a vid of an action sequence between two soldiers. It would be viewed from a partial overhead perspective, but I'd only want to display the two soldiers. No ground plane, no buildings. Just the soldiers and the special effects important to that particular battle. I'd make it so they were on a white background, eventually allowing me to superimpose the models over an entirely different background easily. Is this possible?

I guess you could create a map like that. All white.

Can you somehow make a copy of an existing map and change its textures? Also, is it possible to alter the textures in an existing map and it not be detected as having been changed? I realize that you could probably easily exploit this to give you the upper hand when playing online, but I honestly just wanna do this in order to make compositing easier.
