 greetings!! good to be part of a RTCW community! OK>> here's my question: I run an iMac(please don't laff!!), and i would like to know if all maps i get from rtcwfiles.com are Mac compatible, if not, where can I find mac friendly maps? AND, in dummy terms, how do i install the maps i have downloaded? I already have a bunch, but can't figure out how to get them running for RTCW MP. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!! Even more appreciated would to have any responses e-mailed directly to my e-mail, as i might not have the time to get back into this forum. PLEASE HELP, AND THANX TONS TO THOSE THAT CAN HELP ME>>YOU ROCK!!!! K Lok in Vancouver kellylongman@hotmail.com

Don't you just need to put the in the 'main' directory inside your RtCW installation folder? I'd assume it'd be the same method as for PC, if the file structure is the same.

:uhm: Thanx for the quick reply man! Uhm, I think the file structure is different. I threw the maps into the main folder of RTCW and nothing happened. When i cracked the read me files open, I noticed that it said something like put the maps into the c/drive, which I assume is instuctions for a PC intallation. I need to talk to a mac user that knows where to download mac friendly maps. But thanx a million for your help man!! My handle on MP server is 'H8 My Boss', so if you see me, toss a gernade my way, lol lol!!!

i run an eMac.

every map that i have downloaded from rtcwfiles.com works for me. when u d/l the map, it should un-zip automaticly, if it doesnt i dont know whts wronge r how to fix it.

after it un-zips open the folder (if thats wht u get when it un-zips) and somewere in it you should find a .pk3 file that has the name of the map(usually its the name of the map) and move that .pk3 file into the 'main' folder.

and if u have OS X, its really easy to un-sip .exe files (but it doesnt work for all exe files). heres how: unzip something (doesnt matter wht) and when the stuffit expander icon pops up on ur dock, right click (r hold left click if u didnt buy a 2 click mouse for ur gameing pleasure :p )and when the little menu thingy pops up above it select 'keep in dock'. now, when u d/l an exe (for example the goty map pack [found here ] )click on the stuffit expander icon in ur dock and drag the exe file innto the window that opens (like it says...) and it will un-zip the contents into the location of the exe (or, u can open preferenses and tell it were to un-zip the contents to), then drag the contents to ur 'main' folder and u now have the goty maps (if u dont have the goty edditin of hte game....)

phew, that was long...i hope it helps.
