Not sure how others feel about this, but little irks me more than a crowd of vote-happy players.

Calling votes has it place, but when it gets a little "spammy", my foot comes down.

Don't abuse the voting, please, all it will do is ruin smooth game play, create a lot of discontent, cause players to go to another server, and cause more servers to disable voting.

Too often I have seen good players who are playing fine to get kicked for just playing well and kicking ass. People will too often press F1 just because. When in doubt, vote F2, or find out first what the REASON is they are trying to kick a certain player.

banimod can put limits on voting so that you can prevent it from getting too spammy.

but i guess korn would say this is "giving too much control to the server owner"

its called experience. running pubs you see all kinds of annoying shit.

people calling votes every 5 secs gets old rather quickly. why should spammy players ruin the fun for everyone else? banimod kills them dead, like roaches.

Yeah,

I tend to swing a little to the "too much voting is bad" side of this argument.

Usually is someone calls a vote and I don't know what it is for then I press f2, then after the vote is finished I ask them why the vote so all can see the reason. If it's a good reason they will call a vote again and if I agree with them I will vote affirmative.

But it's like every other voting situation, if everybody else votes no then the person calling the vote should stop, after all the majority rules. If you call the vote for what you think is a good reason and ppl don't agree then either stop or go elsewhere.

I once called a vote on a non-player and the others voted neg, when I asked them why they said he was a friend and was having a dinner break and didn't want to lose his spot. Can't win them all I guess :(

Voting has it's place, it just bugs me when it interfers with the game. Every time a vote is called, it takes everyones' eyes off the game and everyone loses their focus. If someone is actually screwing off and TK-ing, etc, yeah, it is worth the time to vote them out of there. I don't want a TK-er on my team and I don't want to win a match because the other team had one on THEIR side either.

The non-playing dinner eater should have gone to specs at the very least. He was taking up space where another active player could have played.
