I'm spending a year dead for tax reasons.

Which is good.... if it's good.
I mean they've pulled the big guns out getting Picard involved but CBS are so money orientated and shit all over the fans so often I am genuinely worried.
Star Trek's highly-anticipated spin-off centred on Sir Patrick Stewart's Jean-Luc Picard could run for at least three seasons.
Stewart shared the detail while speaking with Red Carpet News (via TrekMovie.com), and when he was asked about being involved in a future Star Trek movie.
The actor downplayed being in a movie, saying that his commitment for the next "possibly three years" is the TV spin-off...
"Oh lord, we are set up for possibly three years of this show, so if there is a film, it's a long way off," he replied.
Stewart also teased a little about how the spin-off series will deal with the fact that it's been close to 20 years since his character appeared in Star Trek: Nemesis.
"In returning to Star Trek later in the year, the one thing that will be different about this version of Star Trek is that we have simply moved the whole narrative 20 years from when I last wore Jean-Luc's uniform," he said.
"So, everything has aged. When the series gets released, you will see things are very different from what they are."
Stewart previously confirmed that shooting will begin in just "two and a half months".

This is just getting tired and milky. I want the TNG/DS9 times back, and if nothing can be made along those lines, just leave the IP be.

I agree completely.
Plus, I know it will be on CBS All Access. Seriously, put it on the television. I am not going to buy a subscription, just to watch one show.
