mmh you have a point, but remember, kirk was missing in action, they believed he was dead. So it could be that scotty believed that kirk was found or so, or he just made a figure of speech..

Oh, bugger. The title was supposed to be plothole. Duh. Yes, but it just seems a bit stupid to me. Yes, Generations was a brilliant film, but it contradicts TNG. Admittedly, that's nothing new to sci-fi, but most sci-fi's have something else somewhere to explain the contradiction. Stargate, for example, is legendary for getting itself out of plotholes. I've only seen one so far and that was with regards to the Puddle Jumper that could go through time.

How can you say Stargate sucks? The movie, I agree, is pretty bad. But the TV series started off with the characters a lot more developed than TOS or even TNG. For crying out loud, Worf and Geordi for bloody everywhere. They might as well have been extras.
