So like Medafusion saw the movie last night, Personally Medafusion thought it was better then to be expected. It's storyline was also better then Medafusion thought. Medafusion liked on how they brought everyone into the storyline like how they all met. Medafusion would also like to know what everyone else thought of it...

I'm going to see it tomorrow night (hopefully). It is also interesting to note, that Paramount have already green-lit a second Trek movie by Abrams. Shocking!

lol, and I take that's a good thing.

One thing is clear though. Despite the constant negative barrage from purists, heated critics and haters alike. XI did not disappoint, and quite frankly, it was spectacular.

Indeed, the film seems to be a damn good one. I have read reviews (non-spoiler ones) about the film, and the amount of non-Trek fans that have seen it, and given it top scores was quite surprising. I think Mr Abrams has (in that respect) done a good job. I read somewhere, that one of his goals was to reel in non Trek fans, as well as your typical Trek fan. Seems he has done something right at least.

It was.

The main criticism I've observed is that the storyline diverges from the original, that some characters are trying too hard to be funny (chekov and scotty are at times). The rest can be filed under "The props don't look like they were hand crafted in grampa's basement" type of complaints or "There's too much action!"

Some people would rather see star trek die if it has to change in order to survive. To those people I say "Pretend these movies don't exist".

It was a better movie than I expected. I haven't really been into Star Trek for some years now and this was a good movie, quite possibly better than a good chunk of the previous Star Trek movies (Insurrection, Nemesis, Generations, Final Frontier and the first movie come to mind). I don't care on a whole about whether or not the movie lived up to canon, there's nothing I hate more than people arguing about what is and isn't canon in a fictional universe, and so I think it covered its bases well in respecting past Star Trek stories as well as making a new one for itself.

Maybe 7.5 or 8 out of 10.

Ugh you would not believe some of the canon debates i've seen about this movie since it came out :uhoh: Anyways i saw it yesterday with some friends and then came back today with my family to see it again. It was great.

Monday afternoon at the AMC/IMAX…going to check it out. I’ve been purposefully avoiding those who have seen it…not reading any posts here either just in case someone spilled the plot-beans.

I Saw It Last Night.

It Surpassed My Expectations And All I Can Say Is This:

OMG BEST MOVIE EVER!!!!!!!!!

I Have Been A Star Trek Fan Ever Since I Was 6 Years Old. I Promised Myself That I Would Hate It And That I Would Never Go See It But It Was Really Great. I Went In Thinking It Would Be Useless Just Like Me But I Loved It Just After Watching The First Few Minutes. All The Actors Were Great. Chekov Was Awesome. And Somehow Deforest Kelly Is Chanelling Through Karl Urban. I Can Honestly Say That I Thought I Would Hate This Movie But The Complete Opposite Happened. I Can Definitely Say That This Is The Best Trek Movie To Date.

And I Plan To See This Again By The End Of The Week. Only Thing I Did Not Like Was The Slightly Altered Timeline. (No More Vulcan, LOL Slightly Altered). There's A New Trek Game Out Soon That Takes Place In The New Movie Universe.

Out For 360, PS3 And PC. But Do Not Get Excited, It Doesn't Look That Great. I'm Sure It Will Inhabit Bargain Bins Everywhere.
