I can't belive the things I read on these forums, (Oh my god someone is cheating thay shot me from across the map ahh...) Understand this post read it twice take it as relgion. I'll say it twice. " There are NO I repeat NO, real world BALISITICS in the Q3 Engine." What ever do you mean Action? I mean if you fire a weapon at spot in a map, the projectile will continue to travle untill it impacts with something period! be it a wall or a player on the other side of the map. In effect you could kill someone with a luger on the other side of the map, so long as you were able to put that tiny white dot on them or just by sheer acident. It does NOT matter how far away in real world terms they are. Balistics and TIME to TARGET given relevent distance don't exist!!! in the Q3 Engine! An MP40 or Thompsom round will (Time to Target) the exact same no matter if your firing at wall 1 foot in front of you or across the map.....get it? The only weapon that seams to have a Time to target is the Panzer, but only because it has a predefined travel speed... A bullet weapon(colt,luger,Mp40,thopson,venom,mauser) all have an near instant (Time to Target) No matter what the distance. So if your firing in a room, the bullet will hit the wall in exact same amout of time it would take if you were firing across the map.!!!! so the next time you cry "Someone shot me from across the map wah wah there cheating." They did shoot you, cause the Q3 Engine has NO real world balistics! Think about what were talking about, Velocity plus or minus Gravity versus angle of attack versus distance versus speed of target versus rate of fire. In the real world all of these factors have values that must add up in order to score a kill..In Wolf they have a Zero value. alowing you to kill a target on the other side of the map, in the same amount of time it wuld take to kill a target right in front of you. You would think someone would have noticed this when you turn G_Gravity to Zero but the weapons still fire the same..... Get a clue. It was Col. Mustard in the hall with the candlestick...Test it yourself fire at a wall, then fire at the ground as far away as you can see the impact. The time is the same.

You guys want to try a mod that eliminates that? Try Awakened mod, you can no longer shoot someone all the way across the map. When I played I felt like I was really having a firefight. Only on single shot and 1 out of 3 did I hit my target.

all that makes sense apart from 1 thing u got rong.... the mauser does hav decent ballistics. u cant notice it normally but when ur a sniper look through ur scope and when an opposing sniper shoots at u, u can actually see the bullet flyin towards u!! just thought i wud point that out:D Bones

I've seen that through the scope as well, but i'm 90 percent sure that's a (tracer) round you see every so often in the scope. If it took the Mauser bullet as long as the tracer round to hit the target. No one would every get sniped you could just move out of the way. The Mauser though is a good example. It's the only weapon you would think, could kill you across the map. The truth however is in the Q3 engine you can (Snipe) with any of the weapons. The Colt45 round will travle just as far at the same rate as the mauser. The difference is in, having a zoomed in image and the amount of predefined damage the mauser versus the colt does to the target. Test it. On Beach stand on the Sniper Hill and fire your colt45 at doorway to the back stairs. The Bullet will hit the wall in the same amout of time the mauser round will. So in effect if you hit someone standing there and there damage was low. You would "Kill them form across the map." The point is to understand in Wolf all of bullet weapons have one predefined (Time to Target) rate of fire and no cap on distance. What the actual number is I don't know 0.X amount of miliseconds. The trick or the illusion is, at a certian distance you can't see the bullet impacting so you belive the bullet isn't going that far or you wouldn't be able to hit any thing. In fact it does and you can kill some one from a great distance with a small caliber gun. Would anyone want to snipe with a 45? of course not. Would you get many kills and be the best 45 sniper? of course not. The point is you could With only aiming luck, kill someone from an otherwise unthinkable distance. the only factors that compensate for this are. Just simply not being able to see the impact which effects you aim, and bullet spread. I'm unsure if after a certain distance the bullet spread gets greater the farther away the target is. It most likely does, but is it a predefined or set power of ten or does it increase by x amount for x amount of meters to target. Whatever the case 90 percent of time all of this is just by accident (shooting in the dark and just happend to hit someone.) which causes the thought that they must be cheating.:)

Good point Action. I have killed people from across maps with a .45 and had to listen to them whine for 15 min. It's hilarious to hear them.

I don't know squat about physics, but you bring up a good point. But, if real physics were applied would we be having this much fun? :D

yeah realistic games aint as good. im sorry but things like awaking mod its much more realistic but to me that takes all the fun out the game beacause wolfenstein is a fantasy pretty much and its not supposed ot be realistic so although thats a bit gayy shootin sum1 across the map but its not exactly a big problem is it.
