Rue McDohl;3354913I'm not being negative just realistic and while it's not impossible to have humanity reach that kinda state it's not likely at least not within a 100 to 200 year range and not with out some major changes to how we view things around us and in the universe in general (I do not mean a small thing like meeting other life forms for quick fix changes that sci-fi stories love to use I mean like full blown changes that take time).

You certainly know what your talking about and i like the way you think about the Future, you are right and you are being realistic, were not gonna reach that state in 100 - 200 years, Good Comments (Rep+) :gpost:

Realism is not pessimism. Realists tend to be optimists, and try to find ways to achieve a realm of idealism that fits within the acceptable parameters of the human condition…Not to be offensive to the dream, but idealism in its truest form blinds. The road to destruction is often paved with good intentions. Sorry, but how do we expect to achieve bliss in 1 or 2 hundred years when we have yet to achieve such dreams in the last 6000 thousand years. Sure we have made advancements, but last I looked the world is about to reach critical mass. Assuming the Universe is as populated as Gene had hoped, I find it highly unlikely that we humans are going to get it that easy if we bump into another species…give me a break we can’t even get along with our own species and have no qualms about the destruction of others species on our planet that we feel is beneath us in some way. The mirror universe is exaggerated, but done so in a cautionary mocking tone of what we should avoid…the Utopic dream of the Federation is plausible, but in all REALITY highly unlikely, but hey, never stop dreaming right?

Like all people in the mirror universe the Borg would be slightly different and they may be less hostile to everyone else and may invite people to join thier comunity rather than assimilating anyone they find by force

Good post, but next time make sure to qoute the person you are refering to since it's confusing if you don't know who the post is aimed at (thought that was being aimed at me at first till I finished and realized it was aimed at USS-Enterprise but then again I was still half asleep when I first read this >.> ).
