Well – so much for the next Trek movie. Looks like JJ Abrams has decided to work on Stephen Kings “Dark Tower” series as opposed to producing and directing the next movie that was/is suppose to come out. I’m not to broken up…cause I really didn’t like the on again/off again story line for the next Trek movie of which Abrams was a part of. No offense, but I really don’t like his movies or “stories”. Maybe he’ll do ok with King’s work, cause I love King too…but I know Stephen will not let Abrams muff up his work.

I heard JJ Abrams was kicked off the production team for the next Trek movie for some arguments or something.

Anyway, im not to bothered by this. A prequel Trek movie sounded like a bad idea from the start to be honest.

I didnt like the idea of the Prequel trek movie either.

I didnt exactly like how they picked JJ Adams for the producer (and possibly director), i dont see him as the person to bring back the franchise. But thats just my opinion.

Meh, I wasnt exactly excited when i heard they'd be making an eleventh film.

But AdDaja, where did you hear that JJ adams postponed the project?

you can read more here: http://www.syfyportal.com/news423260.html Maybe the twits in hollywood got the message that the fans do not like the prequel idea - HELLO. Maybe they should read some of the really great novels that have spun off of the series and come up with one of those stories. Personally, I'd like to see something on the big screen with Q.

A prequel Trek movie will fail, because the prequel Trek TV series (Enterprise) failed as well.

You would think so... The guys who really understood ST and controlled the reigns are no more I'm afraid; fired, retired, or pushing up daisies.

The Enterprise Series was good, but yes, it did fail. In ratings.

If they do make another movie though, I hope its actually "a trek film" rather than something like Nemesis, or Final Frontier.

I actually liked Nemesis... :( I agree on the fact that a prequel is a bad idea though...The effects were good, but there were too many things which didn't add up, also I thought it was strange that the Enterprise had an almost 360° phaser coverage, while the Conni didn't. At some points they just seemed superior to the TOS era; They should go too far in the future either, I really wouldn't like it to see the enterprise-J for example (it could however turn up in the storyline briefly...perhaps?)

I think a continuous plot is best. It's less confusing for everyone, and there will be some familiarity.

That or a restart, problem is thanks to voyager the series HAS to go in the direction of the lame time travel future unless the keep milking the TNG era.
