Reading another thread, im curious to know what age everyone first saw star trek. Please put down how old you were, which series (ie next generation, original) or movie you saw first, who got you into it or whether you simply stumbled across it. Also, whether or not you consider you self a full flown trekkie now. I first watched the original series with my dad when i was 3 years old.

Started with TOS/TOS Movies (around the time TNG had gone about half way into it's first season), was six or seven years old at the time I think and have watched ever since.

No I do not consider my self a huge fan anymore, trek after TNG quickly began to suffer from Capcom syndrome (the same thing over and over for sequals or in this case episodes). As I saw the same story told over and over I grew bored with trek, trek has basicly failed to keep with the concept that made it ground breaking in the first place to mimic current issues and put them in a form that not only entertains but makes us think a little. Well thats my own views on it at least, but I still follow the series when I can as I feel it can be saved with a reset and some new writing talent.

Not giving my age out, sorry.

I was 10 years old when I came into the Trek world. I started with watching Voyager with my parents. I watched that entire series and on occasion a TNG episode. Then I followed Enterprise on foot till the final ep and started to collect DVD-boxsets. First all 7 from Voyager (and watched them all) then all 3 from TOS (and watched them all too), 7 from DS9 (watched them too) and finally TNG (them too).I don't really concider myself a trekkie, but more like a middlestep. I have all the eps, but other collectibles like commbadges or phasers don't interest me that much. I'm also not into books ans stuff

Same here, I watched TNG about that age to. It was always on Saturday around 19.00 hours. I remember I was always looking forward to Saturdays. Then halfway through TNG they stopped and put Voyager on. I was very angry at the time  . I wanted to see TNG, but then they put Voyager on the screen and after a couple of episodes I almost forgot TNG and thats how I got interested in Voyager. It's to bad I never saw TNG again on the Dutch tv.
