"Our first goal is to better the game now; commercial things shall be considered only after the game is perfect. In long term, the billing method will be decided differently according to features of individual locations." Well I stumbled upon this article and since that day I m afraid that they could charge us for the Battlenet 2.0. Im not happy about the long term part of the quote....

If they want a fee, I wont get the game.

What do you guys think, are there any updates about this topic? :deal:

Wouldn't be a too wise decision. Sega and Microsoft did the same on Universe at War, they let people play for online features that are usually for free. End of story is that UAW multiplayer is dead now. :(

But it could be worth taking the risk for Blizzard as they won't get even NEARLY the money from SC2 which they got from World of Warcraft.

But I gonna buy teh game for sure, as wanna play the campaign. I would even considering paying a little fee for the Battle.NET if it got serious improvements in contrast to teh Wc3 BNET.

I doubt they would make a fee for an rts. To be honest, people don't have such a tie to those games as to mmorpgs, so they tend to be less willing willing to pay monthly. One can then assume, that sc2 would live for that long to be honest.

guys i no a way to settle this real easily i no a forum that actually has connections to the starcraft team but i do how ever believe that they will make fee because as you no the original starcraft has no fee's and they will be making a ton of cash when it comes out because even ppl that play wow will most likely quit it and go to starcraft2. also if u would like to check it out here is the link to the site StarCraft 2 Forum

Notice how the word "China" is involved. Billing methods for services such as this are the norm in China due to the proliferation of gaming cybercafes compared to the relative lack of broadband penetration.

It won't hit the US, Europe, Australia, or... anywhere outside of Asia, pretty much.

I don't know how, and I don't know why, but this is totally Sheep's fault.

well if you put it that way then ya i can see then but i didn't notice the word "China" but i kinda feel bad for the Chinese cause like only Asia (pretty much China and Korea) seems like they will have to pay for it so i kinda feel bad for them.

A fee eh, I could deal with a yearly fee. Maybe if it is like LIVE where you pay for the service rather then just one game then I'd might be acceptable. Monthly billing is not.
