[FONT=arial][COLOR=blue] Has anyone started getting "serious error" crash after a CPU upgrade? I recently upgraded my AMD 1900 to a 3000 and now the game crashes after a few minutes of play. The game had crashed before with my 1900 (2 times in about 1 month), but now it is very consistent.
No...it is not overheating, the temperature never gets above 50C. I've tried reinstalling the game, and reinstalling DX9.0a. No luck:mad: . How in the world would a CPU upgrade cause this?
My system stats are: GeForce 4600 Detonator 43.45 driver AMD 3000+ 2x512 mb 333mhz simms (matching pair) ASUS A7V8X mobo with VIA KT400 chipset VIA 4-in-1 Hyperon rev. 4.46 drivers Win 2K pro
Any help would be appreciated.:D
From past experience, i always had to reinstall my os when i upgraded the processor. it just causes problems. So ur best and gauranteed bet is to reinstall os. From scracth i mean too, fromat ur c, and do a clean install.
My guess would be it is your OS and not your proc.
There are only two OS's that are ideal for games, win98se and winXP Win98se is better for games as it still has DOS and XP has better stability.
You may wanna switch your OS's anyway.
i agree with everyone else, reinstall that OS, probably the best idea. sadly that means formatting and all that crap which ive done to much lately because norton antivirus is a bitch. lol... yea but good luck:frog:
Thanks for the replies. I reformatted and installed Win XP. Unfortunatly I have the same problem (on certain maps). I think the game is just buggy. Oh well...I'm diggin XP though:dance:
dude its not ur computer craping out its the game. the ppl at ea rnt smart enough to fix this. ask ne one they all have this problem
