hello, why is it that when im running COMMAND AND CONQUER GENERALS, the color of the land (the floor/ground) is black and there is no voice from the tanks and infantry... the other features are normal and the game is running normally... exept those two errors...

im running on AMD athlon XP 2.0ghz, ECS K7AMA3 VIA motherboard, 256 MB DDR, 64MB geforce2 mx 400, cmedia 4 ch soundcard, windows XP professional, Office XP with frontpage and norton systemworks 2003..

your graphics card most likely the reason for the ground color error, its not quite strong enough for playing Generals. you need a DirectX8 card, a geforce 2 mx is i think either a DX6 or 7 card. your sound card i have never heard of, especially the 4ch part, im guessing 1 sub 1 left/right and 1 center. i have no idea if your sound card can support the game.

ya i think pestilence64 is right , my old old dell would not run the game when i WAS using it b/c of the video card. it was a piece of !@#$ video card so i got a new one for it and it was working fine. slow but running b/c of the processor and other stuff but to get to the point its definatly the video card. just look at the box at the bottom of the game, it tells you what you need for the game in its minimal requirements. also if you have a messed up mod, it might screw the game. so check that out to

in the future remember that if you see an Nvidia card with MX in the name then its really... well let me put it this way the Geforce 4 MX's run ~5% better than your Geforce 2 MX. MX cards really only run about as well as there counterpart 2 generations ago. what acronym can we make with MX, that means... dont buy another one of these version card. thats my recommendation. youv got a good processor and mobo and decent ram, i recommend either an Nvidia GforceFX 5700, or ATI 9600 series, which ever you can find cheaper and both will get you the performance you need to enjoy this game I think both are around 100-125 dollarss right now Froogle man froogle.

its hard to say what the problem could be righ after formatting, just one that, maybe there are some system drivers you have not installed yet like mobo drivers especially for AGP updates. 32 megs vid cards you mean? i would be emazed the see a 32 meg card play generals smoothly, maybe it could be played but i dont think it would be enjoyable.
