OK, hey all, I'm interested in buying SFC III, I have a place I can get it from and I've read reviews and it looks good. but I'm vurious since nothing has said it but: is there a way to take direct control over your ship i.e. you fly it yourself like in Bridge commander? thanks for answering my Q. and another thing what would you give SFC III out of 10? thanks again.

Yes, the whole game is based on ship control.

I'd give it 8/10, 'cause they could have done a little better (i.e. more races).

1. The only way (I know of) to fly the ship is as if you were an observer outside. You can't control it as much, but it's the only way.
2. I wish it were possible, but I don't believe there is a way to fly as if you were on the bridge.
that's like in BC, you can control it in a limited way in a 3rd person view, that's what I wanted. I would rather have direct control if I have nooby officers at the controls. It's been ordered.

In SFC3, there is no bridge feature. You outfit your ship then take her into battle. You can control the direction of the ship using the cursor and clicking in the direction on the screen you want it to go, and you control the ship's speed using the A and S keys on the keyboard.
I know you can customize your ship. I was just wondering if you could actually fly your ship using the keyboard or whatever and fire the weapons yourself instaed of having tyhe computer do it for you, because that's all I'd trust against a borg ship.
