Right, I start World Builder, click the 'Accept Terms' button. Then the small World Builder splash screen comes up, the one with the loading bar on it. The loading bar goes nowhere and then after about 5 seconds of nothing happening, an error window pops up, and says'

Title: Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Libary

'Runtime error!

Program: C:\Program Files\Generals\worldbuilder.exe

abnormal program termination'

So, I click 'OK' then another window pops up straight afterwards saying this:

Title: Loading Worldbuilder: worldbuilder.exe - Application Error

'The instruction at "0x21110f86" referenced memory at "0x0c0e7458". The memory could not be "read".

Click on OK to terminate the program'

So I then click 'OK', the splash screen f**ks up, and another window pops up, the 'helpful' windows XP error screen, then I click 'Close' and the program ends.

SO, I was wondering how I make this program work again, it has been working, and I think that it is something that I installed in one of the Windows updates that happen automatically. What do I do? Can I just download some Runtime component/update? Remember, I can't install any C+C updates as it causes me to have 'Serious Errors', sorry, but my computer is rubbish, thanx!.

Simply temporarely move out of your Generals folder structure tree the .../data/ini folder and WB will function again.

This is an issue regarding conflict between too diferent libraries of settings i.e. FactionUnit.ini that is there (probably from a mod) and the original one, resident in the ini.big that an internal call from WB insist in using.

presto!
