Most of these ships actually do NOT reach the poly count of even stock Legacy ships, but if you want to port them you should try the tutorials on STL Files. Most of them are for BC, but if you get access to the models in maybe 3ds or dxf format, since the sod importer will only import stock models, you can simply import/open these instead of the BC nif file.

....I have Ghost' compilation file...and.......well..converting all those ships into Legacy would be ludacris seeing as how many ships were looking at here . Maybe you should be more specific with what you want converted and post them on the ship's request thread........

You know what's funny, most people actually want it the other way around. (Legacy models to Armada). Trust me, models in Ghost's mod will not look good in a newer game like legacy. That's like porting a ps1 model to a ps2 game.

Jet is correct.. most ships in Armada are poly-reduced in order to play in an RTS game where you will need to build over 100 ships to achieve galactic supremacy. These ships will not be anything like the Legacy ships.

Unfortunately - there is only a stock Sod Importer for Milkshape, in fact the Armada community was spilt 50-50 over this. Therefore you can't import these ships into Milkshape unless you have the full importer and its next to impossible to find on the net - and I'm not going to tell you where to get it. You could just rename the .sod to .m3d but they will not look good in Legacy, Legacy's engine will show up their relatively low poly count.

If you really want to port I'd say kitbash some stock BC material and learn to model from Kitbashing :)

Correct. Unless you can get the model from the original author. I got a few really good models from WrathofAchilles last year.

I'm with LegacyFiles since the beginning and belive me , we were porting lots of Armada ships at that time. (You didn't even needed to convert the sod files couse they are wroking with Legacy) They looked terrible in Legacy. Even the best looking Armada ship won't look good in Legacy. Some Armada modders are trying to convert three or four of my Legacy models for Armada with no luck.

Please edit your post and avoid triple posts the next time. As I said there are several tutorials on STL Files.

Heres a tutorial for porting A2 to STL

(beware it will look stupid when you play the ship) ___________________________________________________

Instructions:
1) Get the ship's *.sod, *.odf, and *.dds/*.tga 2) Re-name the ship's .sod to put ".m3d" at the end instead of ".sod" 3) Copy an existing ship ODF (that is similar to the ship you are going to port, like using a Raptor ODF for a Valdore/Norexean) into the ODF of the ship you plan to add to Legacy 4) Edit the ODF as you wish - change cost, years, weapons, etc. 5) Copy the .m3d into the "m3d" folder (default: C:\Program Files\Bethesda Softworks\Star Trek Legacy\m3d) 6) Copy the finished .odf into the "odf" folder (default: C:\Program Files\Bethesda Softworks\Star Trek Legacy\odf) 7) Be sure not to re-name any textures, and copy them into the textures folder a) Copy .dds into the "dds" folder b) Copy .tga into the "rgb" folder 8) Start up Legacy, find your ship and load it. Enjoy!
