What do you mean by export the joints.

Do you want to save them in a file so you don't have to Hard point every ship you make.( I do)

Or do you want to export them to a different editor.

Either way you would either save them (MS3D) or export them (file > export). If you want to do the first thing just load a model hit merge (file> merge) and select the file with the joints. Or you just load them into another editor (3DS max).

If it isn't either can you please tell me so I can help.

You want to use the same set of hardpoints in other ms3d file? You just have open a finished , working ms3d file with the hardpoint set You want to use. Delete all meshes and materials. After that save it as "hp.ms3d". When You'll be making a new model just use merge option in Milkshape and choose that file.
