Hi people, does anyone out there know how to make ships in Legacy fire their weopans while they are cloaked? This would be really cool, I have tried several things myself, but I cant make it happen! I would have liked this in the Nemesis Mission I posted a while back.:)

Not entirely impossible.. Think outside the box for a little bit instead of the conventional method. A small tip, ultimately cloak is just an animation. Legacy you can play specific animations. Thats one tip..

Another tip. LRS still works when your cloaked and that IS a weapon (classed as one).

It wont be easy and it wont be a five minute job but it gives you a few new ideas. Also gives me a few new ideas (pulse blasts and wave weaponry!!)

Look outside the box before you start to give up.

You can also look at attempting to use "isvisibletoteam" mission scripting. Say for Nemesis you set the Scimitar to not be visible to team 1 then it will appear to be cloaked, and it should be able to still fire on team one, or that's my guess anyways.

The difference would come from having your own ship cloaked and firing from it... because doing it that way your ship wouldn't "look" cloaked.

That's what I'd expect it to work like and how I had intended to attempt such a thing if I got around to a Nemesis mission myself. I really don't see it as a very interesting mission and it's still the star trek film I dislike the most. I'm more likely to attempt it with an Undiscovered Country mission as I loved that film.

But you can't attack it. But it is possible.

Cant attack it? How much you want to make a bet on that?? I have PayPal :D

Its quite easy to attack a cloaked ship, and have it trigger as a special event in scripting. Set up a few invisible objects, make use of a 'hail' or scan, have the special event trigger and bingo you can fire on cloaked ships....

Simple yet effective.

But what should this event trigger? I don't get it...I went through the header files many many times, but couldn't find anything useful.

Does someone need a proof of concept mission or something?..

Looks like Tjoz and myself are the only two that think it's even possible.. Tjoz make a map, I'll throw in a Bird of Prey, the Ncc-1701a, and the Ncc-2000 will warp in. Then the ships will take a few more hits by the BOP and the Enterprise will get that Torpedo reconfigured and fire it off after the BOP while it's still cloaked..

Wouldn't take to much if my theories are correct. If they aren't, Tjoz's sound more complex and it would be more up to him if he wanted to prove it with them.

Would show cloaked ship firing on the Enterprise and the Excelsior and the Enterprise firing on the cloaked ship.. No objectives, detailed cinematic or audio etc.
