How do I increase the amount of torpedoes a ship can carry, not fire already figured that out. For example, the Galaxy class carryes 52 torpedoes, how do I increase that number.

I think it sets a default torpedo count. If you make the fore torpedo four and aft torpedo four... then it will increase your total loadout... now we need to figure out where the default is...

This only works after you have inserted this line: g_bGeneratePackFile = 1 into your cfg file usually located here: C:\Program Files\Bethesda Softworks\Star Trek Legacy

The process is very simple once you get the hang of it, and as a bonus once you learn this you'll be able to modify many specs for a ship.

Firstly, if you look at a ships odf file eg: "F_Constitution" and look under the sub-topic "torpedoes" all the sub-headings below are: // upper forward Photon torpedos weapon7 = "fed_tos_photon_cruiser" weaponHardpoints7 = "hp01" "hp02"

// lower forward Photon torpedos weapon8 = "fed_tos_photon_cruiser" weaponHardpoints8 = "hp03" "hp04"

// aft Photon torpedos weapon9 = "fed_tos_photon_cruiser" weaponHardpoints9 = "hp05" "hp06"

The text to the right of "//" are the programers notes and are ignored by the game, everything else is read. Where it has for example: weapon9 = "fed_tos_photon_cruiser" that means that for that torpedo weapon located at the aft of the ship the game will use the file "fed_tos_photon_cruiser".

If you want to edit any specs for that weapon you must edit in notepad that file. Because it's a photon torpedo it's located in odf/weapons/photons

in the file it has different specs, you want to edit the amount of torpedo capacity, so edit and save it. If you want only that specific ship to have a different torpedo amount then copy the file "fed_tos_photon_cruiser" (before editting) and change that copied files' name from "fed_tos_photon_cruiser" to "fed_tos_photon_cruiser2" and then rename the file in the ships' odf file under torpedoes to "fed_tos_photon_cruiser2". and then save and run the game normally.

*NOTE - this process works the same for the phaser weapons as well as the special weapons all you have to do is repeat the process for those files.

Now you can edit odfs to your hearts content.

You don't have to regenerate the pak file... either rename it to something like db.old or move it out of the default Bethesda Softworks folder and keep it someplace you can keep it.

If you rename or remove the pak file you risk destabilising your game. You can do it if you want but my way is a lot safer.

And if you regenerate the db.pak file, you will also loose the default odf files. I removed it from the folder and it works fine... and everyone I know says it works fine too. Besides... if it doesn't work fine you can just put it back.

Just discovered something today... if you add the line

ordnanceCapacity = -1

then you should have unlimited torpedoes... use this as u see fit.
