I have had legacy for months now but only recently have looked into mods. I am trying to put in the full race add-on along with trying to upload new ships but I don't know for sure how to actually install them. I have put the races in the "default fleets" file and I put the ships in the "ships" file but neither appear. Could someone PLEASE help me?!:bawl:

You just have to download the Cungi's New Races Mod and install it as told in the Readme. And have to modify a ships odf. Example: race = "federation" to race = "dominion" This is the Mod on Legacy Files! New Races Mod, Star Trek: Legacy Downloads, Star Trek: Legacy Scripting

I understand that but, what does he mean by "modify the ships odf"? Also do you know how to install the new races mod?

Could you make it a little clearer?
The ODF File (Object Definition File) is the main file-type used to code things in Legacy. You may have to edit certain ODF files to get certain mods to work. The ODF FIles can be found in the root Legacy directory, as stated above. The usual location is...

C:/Local Disk/Program Files/Bethesda Softworks/Star Trek Legacy

*This maybe different depending on the drive you installed Legacy on.

He means edit them with a text editor. Right click on an ODF file and choose open with Notepad or Wordpad, (doesn't matter which), then edit the file. As for installing the New Races Mod, please read the readme file.

I know I sound stupid but I have just never done this. I right clicked on the ship I was putting in (DS9) but it did not give me the option of opening with something. I did not know what the readme ment by the "correponding folders" or what it meant by changing the "dp.pak folder". I am realy sorry for how stupid I sound.

You do not sound stupid! I had the same problems when I modded Armada the first time! DB.PAK file: db.pak is a file in the Legacy directory. You have to delete or rename it; otherwise you mod won't work! Corresponding folders: *.odf -> [...]\odf\[type] If it is an ships odf you have to put it in the folder odf\ships, if it is an station in the folder odf\stations if it is a phaser put it in the folder odf\weapons\phasers, ... *.m3d -> [...]\M3D Every M3D file has to be put here! *.dds -> [...]\Textures\DDS *.tga -> [...]\Textures\RGB *.sol -> [...]\sol *.spr -> [...]\sprites Programs: *.odf -> Editor (Rigth Click the file, then go to properties [I hope it is called so in English Windows, it is the screen where you can se the files data like size, etc.]; Here you can change/select the program the file will be opened with -> Select the Windows Editor/Notepad; Now every odf file should be opened with the Editor!) *.m3d -> not (yet) editable *.dds -> Photoshop (with DDS Plugin; you can find it at EF Files I think!) *.tga -> Photoshop, Nero, Photo Impact, ... ++++Not that important++++ *.spr -> Editor (Rigth Click the file, then go to properties [I hope it is called so in English Windows, it is the screen where you can se the files data like size, etc.]; Here you can change/select the program the file will be opened with -> Select the Windows Editor/Notepad; Now every spr file should be opened with the Editor!) *.sol -> Map Editor (Tutorial: Future Projects of Ultimate Universe) I hope I could help....
