Ok, first question: I have the new races mod, but how do I add my own race, as in, what files do I have to modify?

Secondly: I was wondering what these values mean, as in, is higher or lower better?

// global WEAPON values photonReplenishRate = 12.7 // how fast can i restore my photons weaponsEnergyReplenishRate = 20.1 // how fast can i restore my weapons energy pool weaponPoolDiminishRate = 1.5 // how slowly does my weapons pool diminish energyPerPhoton = 0.2 // how much energy expended when firing a photon torpedo shieldRechargeRateModifier = 10.2 // how fast the shields charge

So which is faster/slower?

//Energy per shot energyPerPulsePhaser = 10.0

So is this more energy taken from my ship, or the amount of energy that damages the enemy ship?

You will have the race odf in the races.odf file and have to modify the file multiplayer.xml!

For the first value, a smaller number means faster reload rates. For the second value, a smaller number means faster energy recharge for weapons. For the third value, a smaller number means slower energy diminish rate. For the foruth value, a smaller number means less energy used per photon. And for the fifth value, a larger number means a quicker shield recharge rate. [quote=Lokian]//Energy per shot energyPerPulsePhaser = 10.0 So is this more energy taken from my ship, or the amount of energy that damages the enemy ship?

That is the energy taken from the ship. 5.0(for example) means less energy used.

oh man talk about miss information. you have most of that backward. im the auther of the "my odf project" and no one has spent more time with these values than me.

this is correct.

// global WEAPON values

photonReplenishRate = 1.9 higher this is the faster the recharge

weaponsEnergyReplenishRate = 1.4 higher this is the faster the recharge weaponPoolDiminishRate = 1.5 higher this is the faster the discharge energyPerPhoton = 0.2 no mystery here shieldRechargeRateModifier = 1.8 higher this is the faster the recharge

good luck
