I've made my first ship for Legacy. Unfortunetly I can't release it becouse I used nacalles from BC SNS Akira and modified hull from BC Voyager A. If someone could help me in contacting the creators of those models it would be nice. That's the picture of the ship. It looks like Luna and the textures are not beautifull , but like I said it's my first model. Also I need some help with exporting ms3d to m3d. Well I did manage to export it to sod but every time I try to export it to m3d I can't see the ship. I don't know if I'm doing it right. scene root -root --geometry ---lod0 ----hull0 --damage ---borg ---crew ---engines ---sensors ---shield ---target --hardpoints ---h_hpXX --lights ---m_XX
i can help you, since i wrote the m3d exporter, but im going to need some more info on whats going on. the hierarchy looks ok to me.
I thought so. I had prometheus 3.0 ms3d file as help. I even tried to add some strobes or plasma and still nothing. When I enter the game the name is in menu but I can't see the model and when I choose it, all I can see in the game is black screen with a white stripe.

this is some error in the model file, try getting my new exporter which is more tolerant of hardpointing errors and try again. http://www.chrisjonesgaming.net/moonraker/M3d_Exporter.rar
Well , still nothing. It didn't worked. Yesterday I managed to export it and the ship was almost ok. It was in the game but the joints orientation was bad and the ship was flying in the wrong direction. When I rehardpointed it , all I could see was the black screen with the white stripe.
sometimes if the root hardpoint id not set facing forward and the orientation of it is off, it will cause the black screen or the ship to be distorted almost like its going to warp. make sure the root nodes are all facing the right way and they are connected properly. this is more than likely the cause of your problems.
While we're on the subject of m3d exporters, where do I send the m3dexporter.dll to? Does it go to the root Milkshape folder or the Source folder?
just in the milkshape dir with the milkshape exe
Are you sure the thing comes with a .exe file? Cuz all I get are a couple of notepads and a .dll file.
you dont get an exe, the dll is the exporter, you have to use it with milkshape... read the readme.txt for all the details. you place the dll in the milkshpae folder with the milkshape exe, then you open milkshape and make a model or import one or whatever, then export to m3d using the export menu and finding the one that says 'Star Trek Legacy M3d'......
