Its possible that the file type hasn't been associated properly with PS. Have you got the DDS plugin?? I'm not entirely sure but I think its needed.

For Photoshop I suggest you the Nvidia Plugin. http://developer.nvidia.com/object/photoshop_dds_plugins.html

If you just wana view those .dds or .tga fieles or any else I woud suggest you Irfan View... http://www.irfanview.com NOTE: If you wana edit .dds Files you will have some quality lost so keep your orginal files. Each time you edit compressed(means with some quality loss) saved Images the compression gets worser and the quality of the Image also.

As far as I know you need the code, most game code is in c++. As far as i know you can't open a dll, just hack in to it wich is not illegal if you are allowed to.

You woud need a programm like resurce hacker to open/edit a dll. Some dlls are storing icons as well, also for this there shoud be a Programm.

Well, i hope you don't mind if i'm asking whyt you are trying ?

Ludwig;3524103Thanks for the help, although I don't understand how to open a .dll file.

You don't need to edit any .dll files.

Best not to unless you really know how to.

What!?. I am advising him against opening a .dll file unless he knows what he is doing. Also because it is a dodgy subject to be talking about here on the forum anyhow. Perhaps the author of the thread can explain what he is trying to do. I personally think this thread should be locked because there are far too many posts out of order in the thread.

But if you mean a .dds, then install the plugin (close Photoshop before [that shoud be logical]), run Photoshop and open any .dds file you wish to edit.

If everything did go right then you shoud be able to do so. :D
