I have been dying to install some of the mod ships on this site to my copy of STL but I have no idea how to do it. I have installed Trek Battles III in case that matters. Please help! Thanks!

Most available mods have detailed readme files that explain step by step, how to install mods. What is your exact problem when installing ships?

Ships should have a file structure similar to the game directory. Simply put files from the ships folder into the games folders.

- Open the Windows Editor (notepad.exe) and add this line in it: g_bGeneratePackFile = 1

- Save this as myconfig.cfg in this folder: "...\Bethesda Softworks\Star Trek Legacy"

This will make the game to replace db.pak everytime you start the game.

That ship is packed in the .rar format. Did you just copy the rar file to your legacy folder or did you extract the individual files first?

Being .rar, people new to mods might not know that the file is a compressed file similar to a .zip file and must be extracted.

To do this get winrar (rarlabs.com) or the latest winzip can extract .rar files.

Once extracted you will see it has folders like AcidFluxx said, they are named just like the ones in Legacy itself. Copy these into your Legacy folder. If you extract the files and you end up with an "\events\" folder don't put the "\events\" folder into your legacy folder. Just put the files and folders contained inside the "\events\" folder into your "\Star Trek Legacy\" folder.

----------

It's a Trek Battles 2 ship, meaning it "should" work with TB3 as well. If you want to know for sure ask someone from NG directly such as Gdata or Yopyop or email them or post on their forum.

------------

With having TB3 you should already have a myconfig.cfg inplace.

------------

If installed properly, and if the ship is really TB3 compatible you should find the ship in their Miscellaneous race. I don't know if that's the display name of the race or not, but it's probably something like that, or some other race name that fits that description.

If it isn't compatible with TB3 your game will likely crash on startup or on starting a skirmish with that ship in it.
