I was wondering how to convert from SFC3 to Armada 2. I've sorta given up hope of converting from BC, and I was wondering if it's easier to port SFC3 ships to A2 and from there to Legacy. Can anyone help?

It's easy to convert from bc to Legacy. SFC3 to Legacy procedure is almost the same. Just use milkshape. Import sfc .mod file or BC .nif file , save it as ms3d add h_Scene Root , meshes , hardpoint and export it to Armada2 .sod , then just change .sod to m3d. THAT IS ALL. there are few others things you have to do to be HAPPY:) but the model will work.

Not strictly true. SFC3 texture files are typically in BMP format and need to be converted to TGA/DDS and then reloaded onto the model. The texture co-ordinates will not be lost so it should be a reasonably easy process.

yes they are in .bmp but when you export it to armada Milkshape creates a copy of every bmp in tga format. Also Legacy use .bmp too. I checked it myself.

Is there a way to register milkshape for free? :p @tiptop: Are you sure they use .bmp? All texture files I saw were either .tga or .dds

Exactly, there arent any legal ways, let that be the end of it. Milkshape isn't at all expensive so i suggest you buy it, it is definatley worth it.

If you're using a milkshape you can't just import form .mod and export to .sod or .m3d I was making the same error. Download those files and open them in Milkshape. Trust me you can import them , they will work. You can see how an .sod file needs to be done. http://armada2.filefront.com/file/DoW_Galor_Keldon;70506 Each mesh need a joint. And READ THIS http://armada2.filefront.com/file/Milkshape_3D_SOD_Tutorial;24066 Also check your files names. Sorry for my english.
