Nice background and nice lighting too. I like it as it got a Romulan ship in it :D. Though the map name the first thing that comes into my head is Destiny's Child 'Say my name'... Its the end of the week and the brains fried...
thanks guys; im trying to blend the background in a bit more with pale blue/white nebulas. low density and light absorbtion. the map has a nice feel with the class M planet above the main action and the smaller planets around the sun.
not bad acid
i don't know , I think the first screen looks better
Yeah same here, the first ones better. And I thinkits the lighting not working properly with your background. As your nebulae in your background is blue, dont have a yellow based light source as it looks nasty on alot of ships. Try either a purple or blue based light source. As you have a sun, do you have a directional light or ambient light in aswell? If you do, cut the suns light right down to around 100,100,100. It sounds really low but you make up for it with the directional and/or ambient. Now the Directional try that as a blue tint light source with the ambient as a purple highlight. Nothing too high or everything will be funky looking to say the least. So all up try playing around with these values for light sources for your map (play around with the values to get your desired effect): Sun: 100,100,100 DL: 130,145,170 (directional) AL:25,11,27 (ambient) With mapping, your lighting will make or break your map. Leaving everything as default will give you an average map, make everything you have in your map work with each other.
how do i access the panels for the lightings? im having trouble doing so.. :\ but thanks for the advice, I'll be sure to use it wonce i work out how to change the values
