Legacy itself can do that with the Map Editor. Just type the name of the map and its file type in the Map Editor and off you go.
If you dont put the .sol at the end of it you will play it, put .sol and you will edit it. There are plenty of tutorials out there that will help you out
How do you put new types of ships in the editor to place?
7th March 2006
With the same method as the Armadas ofcourse. Legacy/odf/other is the folder you are looking for. The files that start with "e" or "edit" are for the editor. Just find the right category and add the ship.
I've tried, put everything in the right place but the ship don't show up in the editor.

which files have you edited?
I got the community mod. The ships I'm trying to get in the map i s the Battlestar Pegasus and Galactica, along with the basestar from the Alliance mod. I changed the battlestars races to federation and tried incorpriating them into all of the edit files but it just wont show up. Also, How do you get ships to face against each other when creating maps, even wth ships in the same race.
Use these tutorials to help you out, there are sections on adding things to the editor that will help you out. They are just pdf files so you can install them straight to your desktop for easy reference. They also include some templates for you if you get stuck.
Use the tutorials, thats what they are there for.
