Does anyone know how to arrane for a Prometheus Class to seperate or for a Galaxy Class stardrive separation? I was hoping to make this the thread for ideas about making it work. I am new to modding so i doubt what ideas i have will work, but here they are. First off. Programming an auto-pilot to hold a separated units componets together. Second. An in-game menu that exchanges a separated form with a combined form and vice-versa. Third is to attempt to design a way for multiple fleets and have a galaxy or prommie occupy it. Again though im new and this is just simply what i have thought up but have no clue how to enact. Also in another forum there has been talk of utilizing the arada files in some way for a separation, and i will say that was not my idea. If you have any thoughts please post them here. I greatly appreciate what help you can provid for me and anyone else who uses this thread. Thnks.
Also, if you know of a place where a download of a separation system is could you put it on here, i am nutty over getting it.

First off, the edit button is in the bottom right hand side of your posts.
As for the MVAM. Now, i dont know much about the Legacy coding as i havent researched into it, but if it is anything like the Armada 2 coding, which i have heard it is, then it will be very difficult to get more than one ship seperating at the same time. By that i mean, you would either have to choose if you wanted a seperating Galaxy in your game, or a seperating Prometheus etc.
But if there was a way to manipulate the files to make them perform like BC .py files, then that may be a way to get a ship seperating or better, two ships able to seperate at the same time. I would say look at some Armada 2 ODF files and also look at the MVAM script for BC as that may provide you with some sort of answer.
Also, you would have to make 3+ different models if you wanted a seperating ship, such as the Galaxy Class itself, the saucer section and the stardrive section so you would need some modelling skills.
Im guessing that it is possible to do in Legacy, we just need to find the required files and modify them to do such a thing.
I don't spend enough time here

Yeah if it was possible to separate a Galaxy in Armada 2, then it's got to be possible in Legacy... I mean, it's practically using the same code.
It's going to require a lot of modifications to the GUI/HUD to be able to do it. I am also of the opinion, that it probably won't support multiple separating classes and that, like Gavin1701 said you'll have to choose what separating class you'd rather have in the game.
I remember trying to get more than one separating class in Armada 2, and it just wouldn't work no matter what I tried. I eventually got it to accept both a Galaxy and a Prometheus, but it still didn't work right. I don't remember exactly what was wrong... but I think it made one ship become the other upon separation... it was like the code was specifically made to only accept a Galaxy separation.
I think the way to start is to look at the Galaxy separation special weapon in the Armada 2 code, and getting it to work in Legacy again.... we'd need some good ship models to work with... at least that would be a start.
There was also a pretty cool separating Prommie for Armada 2... but that was still buggy, if I remember correctly. Like you could make multiple clones of specific sections if you didn't separate it in the correct sequence.
well, there are currently out both combined and separated prommie files.
what would happen if we designed an entirely new type of separation program. Tailored to the prommies. and 1 tailored to galaxy based on armada but built entirely different, so that there would be no connection between the two programs.
