I have been playing the game now for some time and find is interesting that there is only a TOS version for skirmishes. When you select this, you seem to get a strange mixture of timelines that seldom includes any ships from the original series era. Only Constitution refits, and excelsiors. It would be great to see a mod series dedicated only to the ship of the TMP era (original crew). Any thoughts on the matter?

I believe there is something wrong with your game, when selecting TOS in Skirmish you get all TOS and TMP ships, not a random mix.

Thanks for the response. I have tried this on many version of STL I have loaded. Basic (from the disc with updates), UUM, New Reality, Community Mod 2, Tactical Enhancement, and when you select the TOS for skirmishes, run a civil war experiement (federation against federation) it always seems to select, non TOS ships, only the movie versions. It must have something to do with the year settings in the .odf or perhaps the command points limits I set. Sorry for these questions, just wondering. Legendary Generations mod has an interesting setting in skirmish mode that only allows for Enterprise, TOS, TMP, TNG ships to be loaded. Problem with this, I have no idea how to modify the base fleet files to add new models from these eras (ie. Chandley class). Thanks for the help.

pick a lower point value before you enter, then it will probably select tos ships.

That doesn't really make sense, you can't expect someone, that has said that they don't know how to mod, to understand you. Even I don't know what your refering to, point valve could be just about any number in any ODF file.

Saultenian, in order to change where ships appear you must change the date in the ODF file, what exactly is it your trying to change?

I will give that points suggestion a shot tonight and this weekend. Thanks for the hint. Are you the Moonraker from Moonrakersmodels? God I hope so. I am really glad that you are getting full into STL. Your mods for SFC(123) are great and I hope that you get a chance to convert more of the TMP era mods to Legacy. Thanks again, talk to you soon.

this has absolutely nothing to do with modding anything.

its simple... pick a lower command point value for your match.... as i understand it, he doesnt want old TOS ships and TMP ships to be fighting, i dont either, but they are in the same era: TOS. the way you avoid that is the pick a lower cp value for your match, then the ai is forced to pick the cheaper ships, the true TOS ones.

thats good enough explanation for you?

and yes it is me from SFC, KA, BC, etc etc :)

I see, that makes sense now. But you can't have expected him or myself to know which point value you were refering to.

Yes it was.

You have to remember that not everyone is familiar with modding games, so some things may be a little confusing for some. =p

read my post... i said its has absolutely nothing to do with modding the game at all. i figured that much was obvious by my post, i never said mod anything. THAT would have been a problem if i had told him to mod something without explaining. the only thing i took as a given here was that at least some of you visiting this board have played legacy before, and lowering the point value before you enter the skirmish is a part of the game, not some mod you have to do.
