"wars do not determin who is right, rather who i left." we should all make a UEF hate club because they're the ones who want to exterminate everyone, while i just hate the religous nuts in general but love playing as them. i think its really wrong to say that there is no real "bad guy." it would hav been smart for the cybrans to flee, then declare war on the UEF, not the other way around, and before that, hav the UEF declare war on the Aeon, and hav the Aeon declare war on the Cybrans first. then they all realize that everyone declared war on each other, and then fight it out in mass chaos. that way, there is no clear "good faction" like the Cybrans seem to hav become.

I thought the Cybrans did flee before fighting the UEF, and anyway, I thought that they started it. And maybe I'm wrong, but the Aeon could have joined the infinite war anywhere between a decade and many centuries after the UEF attacked the symbionts. And as I have always seen it, you cannot have more than one good faction in a war. When there is killing involved, somebody is to blame. You can have one good side Vs the bad guys, or you could have all bad guys, but you can't have good vs good in war. Even if they all stick up for their beliefs, all but one of those beliefs has to be unjustified or false.

I prefer the UEF. For a very lame reason.

Their Commander looks so much better imo. It looks like a real walking death bringer.

As for the good guys/bad guys.... Nobody fits into that category. Not after a thousand yrs of war, no one can ever be the good guys.

War in itself is the "bad guy". It's a failure by all those involved to listen to those whom are in opposition to one or more factions.

Aeon - Religious nut balls who zealously want to exterminate anything that does not conform to The Way. (This seems contradictory to The Way that the Seraphim first introduced those humans to....)

Cybrans - Former slaves who want revenge on those who held them in bondage for so long.

UEF - The united remnants of the Terran Empire, fighting for survival. (From the outset, aren't they the ones most in danger? aren't they building their uber weapon to save themselves as a last ditch strike at their enemy?)

Each one are the good guys.... and the bad guys at the same time. Humans. When will we ever learn?

Cybrans driven for revenge? Only if they continue their attacks on the UEF after that are freed. And you cannot be good and bad at the same time, you can fight for both good and bad things at the same time but for example: if you fight to save someone then fight to hurt someone at the same time, then you cannot really be considered a good guy. Saving a life is almost forgotten once you kill another in cold blood.

The Cybrans are freed of the Terran Empire. An empire which no longer exists. Yet they still attack.

One man's terrorsit is another man's freedom fighter.

Do you think that the German's saw themselves as the bad guys during WWI + WWII?

Your example is not killing in cold blood. To kill in cold blood is to do so without provocation. SS Offciers putting a bullet through a Jew's skull for no reason other than they could, that was cold blooded.

A soldier opens fire upon a group of people who are also armed, and firing upon a fellow soldier who is 20ft away. He is in a position where he cannot return fire without exposing himself to incoming fire, but the first soldier is in no personal danger, but can protect his friend, his brother in arms. That is not cold blooded. To the man whom he saved, that soldier is a good guy. He will sing that soldier's praises, he will buy that soldier a drink to celebrate. To the families and friends of those who were killed, that soldier is a bad guy. They will hate him, they will want revenge, they will want that soldier's blood in retribution for his act.

You have a gun. A man standing opposite you also has a gun. He will shoot you through the chest, the bullet passing through organs and shattering you spine as it exits your body. You will die. The only way to prevent that from happening is to shoot him first. To kill another human being before they kill you. It's not cold blooded, it's you or him. Your life or his.

Anyone is the good guy to someone. AT the same time, they are the bad guy to someone else. It all depends on your point of view.

Killing in isn't always wrong, and is sometimes neccesary. And killing isn't always in cold blood. And anyone can be the good guy from another's point of view, but is there an ultimate good? Do you see the Germans as the bad guys because they are doing evil or is it just what you believe is considered evil? There needs to be set in stone laws of right and wrong or else right is just what makes you happy, no matter what it costs others. And The Cybrans continue to attack because there are still enslaved Cybrans. The slaves moved from one faction to the next but so did the Cybran attacks.

Unfortunately, there can be no set in stone laws of right and wrong. There is the law, and things that can be contrary to it, which are not necessarily wrong, just unlawful.

Is it wrong to kill a peadophile? Is it wrong to kill a rapist? They both commit crimes that are punished by those who enforce the law, and mete out punishment for a crime, but do not dispense justice. Where is the justice in letting someone live who has violated the human rights of another person/s? Justice is when a punishment is given, that fits the crime an individual is being punished for.

Right and wrong are different from how we percieve a person, depending on the circumstances. (For clarification, see my above post.)

Do I believe the Germans were evil? No. Do I believe they were the bad guys because of there actions? Yes. Afterall, is it not our actions that define us? They were responsible for millions of pointless deaths. They commited genocide. They aggressivly attempted to expand their territories and influence through conquest.

This applies to Great Britain, Rome, Persia, Iraq, and countless other countries, and empires of past and present. This kind of evil is inherrent to the human race, and we are the only species on Earth that is capable, and commits these actions.

The more civilised we become, the more damage we do.

As for SupCom... each faction is good and bad. It all depends on your perception of each one.

I think that the ten commandments make good laws and they were set in stone. They have survived for thousands of years and still ring true today. Even if you are an atheist, you have to admit that the Christians (or Jews as they once were) got something right. If those were set in stone for every country and faction, crime and injustice would be small and far between. Countries could not attack each other for land without stealing it and they could not fight for it without commiting murder. Although I know that killing in general isn't always murder, a country that starts a war can't get what it wants without someone being killed by the aggressors, and the aggressing country is responsible for the enemy's deaths. But maybe Vinegarmoon is right... or wrong? Whatever you percieve?:argue: Anyway, I'll ask now what do you think the best faction is apart from good and evil. What is most fun to play as or looks coolest?
