Every time I try and start up Supreme Commander I always get the same error message, "Please verify system meets minimum requirements".

I have already check and my PC meets all the Minimum requirements and all recommended requirements accept one.

Minimum System Requirements:

  • Microsoft®Windows®XP Service Pack 2, or Vista
  • 1.8 GHz processor
  • 512 MB RAM
  • 8 GB available hard drive space
  • 128 MB video RAM or greater, with DirectX 9 Vertex Shader / Pixel Shader 2.0 support
  • Soundcard, speakers or headphones
  • 56.6 Kbps Internet connection required

My System:

  • Microsoft®Windows®XP Service Pack 2
  • 3.2 GHz Pentium 4 processor
  • 1 GB DDR2 SDRAM
  • 77 GB available hard drive space
  • 128 MB video RAM on ATI Radeon X300 SE video card, with DirectX 9 Vertex Shader / Pixel Shader 2.0 support
  • Soundcard, speakers and headphones
  • Cable internet connection.

Is there anyone out there that can help me fix this problem?

I know my video card and processor are not that great but they do meet the requirements so don't give me any of that "your video card sucks to much" bull crap.

I would log onto the GPGnet chat, people are usually pretty helpful there.

I've been asking around, the only answer I get is to use the /novalidate in the short cut, but that doesn't work

The x300 is a little old but I don't think that is the problem.

I'm having this issue on my kids computer. I have a limited account set up for them in XP and if I "Run As.." for SC and use my admin account it doesn't give me the error. This didn't happen before I patched it...

I'll still looking for a solution but for now at least they can play it.

My rig is a: - 3.0 P4 - 2gb dd2 ram - 256mb x800xt (only good thing on this machine, it's awesome to be honest) Mine runs but is pretty useless as far as actually playing the game (building units and having them attack), so i doubt it's your processor. Wouldn't expect to get any decent sort of game running though. I did have a weird out of memory message when i changed antivirus software to mcafee. Easy fix for that one though... go back to a real antivirus suite.

Problem Solved:

As it turns out, all i needed to do was update the driver for my video card.

However, i decided to upgrade my pc anyway so i could run the game on some decent settings.

Heres what I changed:

1GB RAM - 4GB RAM ATI Radeon X300 SE video card with 128 MB video RAM - nvidia GeForce 8500 video card with 512 MB video RAM

I am also planning on upgrading my processor to a core 2 duo sometime in the near future.
