Adding Other SW Game Maps to BF2 -1 reply

I'm a bit new to modding as far as BF1 or 2 goes... but I program as a career and know C++, Java, VB, Perl, PHP, etc... (I assume the BF1 code is in C) Since I won't have any classes from Dec 15 until Fall of 2006, free to learn modding. I CAN do some artwork but I'm a programmer first, and an artist fourth or fifth! I'm thinking of project to add BF1 maps to BF2: (namely, the 2 Bespin maps, and the 2 Rhen Var maps, and the Tatooine map). Also still a big fan of Jedi Outcast, and some of those maps would actually translate to BF2. With opening doors, I'm also wondering about being able to do elevators that go up and down... if not, I suppose steps of some sort would work... I'm thinking maps like Kejim Post and the entire Yavin area, starting from the swamps going though the canyons and all the way to the Massassi temple which is the new Jedi Academy. The Yavin maps from Outcast would be AWESOME in BF2! Especially with caves and canyons and things for DarkTroopers to perch on. Would also be a sniper's paradise, too! Would also be fun to add ships to that map... since the Massassi temple would have the Rebel hangar bay from Star Wars Ep IV.

Great Idea! It would be fun to play JK2 maps on BF2 although you might need something for troopers to use where force powers are required, but still a good idea. Would also be fun to play as Jedi Knight heros like Kyle, or Desaan. When you figure out how to convert JK2 maps to BF maps plz post it.

I think one of us should try expanding the mos eisley map by making the cantina much larger. adding dark catocombs with blastable walls , secret passages ,exploding barrels and booby traps (you know indiana jones style). Now that would be a cool mod for bf2. so who's up to make it???...!
