I realize that this sounds stupid to more advanced users, but hey, we all had to start someime. Anyway, how do you modify weapons and skins and characters? What kind of tools do you need to open or mod those types of files. I want to learn how to mod mission lvl, des.lvl and leanr thier functions as well. If any one could provide me a link or something, I'd be gratefull Thanks a ton in advance:confused: ;)

you CANT mod the .lvl files, but you CAN create your OWN modded/edited .lvl files and replace the original ones (this is known as mods) use the BFBuilder, and create a new project. under Sides, import whatever .lvl file you wanna get (the imps, rebs or ewoks maybe?) then there's a folder in your Project Folder under Sides called "Sidename" (the name of whatever side you've imported) then you simple open an .odf file with a Text Program like Notepad. you can now change the damage if you've opened the .odf for a weapon. please notice that there's also LOTS of .odf's and sometimes multiple .odf's for the units/vehicles/weapons (in the vehicle there's at least one for each effect, for each weapon and for the vehicle itself) after you've edited whatever you want to, you open BFBuilder, and Clean (then you spare some time when munging) then you Munge - and after its done, go to the _LVL_PC folder in your Projects folder. now open the folder called: Side. if I'm right, there's a .lvl file for EACH Side you've imported/created. take the .lvl file you edited, and re-place it with the .lvl fiels which was shipped with the game ***REMEMBER TO SAVE THE OLD ONES BEFORE REPLACING ANY MODS OR .LVL FILE*** try it out :) - Qdin
