I recently discovered the FREE 3D Modelling, Animation, and Rendering program known as Blender. Perhaps you've heard of it, and I was wondering if I could make maps/models/characters/skins in that and import them into games like JK3 and Battlefront? Here's their website:http://www.blender3d.org/cms/Home.2.0.html Sound like a plan? P.S.: Blender is an Open Source program under GNU/GPL license, and the source code is available for manipulation and improvement. I beleive the modding community in general could greatly benefit from this software, just check out the sites movie's section to see how powerful it is. With the source code availble, perhaps the community could engineer more powerful and intuitive mapping and moddling programs. Please think on this.
This looks awsome..... but what formats can it already export into? cause i mean u could export to one format that another 3d modelin app will use and use that to export that into swbf.. too long. i dont know if anyone has tried to makee an exporter for this but i just found out about this..so i cant really say anything. But if we can get an exporter, then yes this would be a kick tool
27 views and no replies...COME ON PEOPLE!! I really want to hear your feedback...so I know there's an actual community out there.... Btw, on exporting, Blender is insanely flexible...because you can download the source code from their site, you can mod it, upgrade, and generally mess with it all you want. However, I've heard Python is somewhat buggy... CAN WE GET A PROGRAMING EXPERT IN THE HOUSE?!?!!?! (I meant that in love :P)
(How it works then?) EDIT: I mean, wow ! this is amazing thanks !
Yeah indeed you can only make .blend files :s
If you want this thing to be put to good use show it to the following. Lotrogeek, A jk3 modder. In these gaming fourms. And the guys at gametoast.
