i just dled the whole modtools thingy and i've been working on the thing for a few days... i keep running into problems here and there, for example: i can read everything in the docs folder but it doesnt seem to have everything needed to explain how exactly everything works (doesnt say where to put LUA scripts) and some other stuff like that... now im sort of conf.d cause i can munge the map and the addme but it crashes bf2 when i try to run since it can't find the LUA scripts for my map (at least thats what i think is the problem) - im still trying to figure out what goes where and whats necessary to create/run a map (i made the map but i can't use it now b/c of above prob) help would be extremely appreciated :)
oh, and i seemed to have figured out the LUA issue but im still having trouble munging the result - it seems like its working fine, says it munged properly, but when i go to addon it says that _LVL_PC is empty and the addme.script is blank (sigh)
First, do not move any, and I mean any of the files at all from where they are in your project data.
Ther should be only two areas that things are moved into and out of. The Side folder and the World folder. Each of those contains all the odfs, mshs, tgas and reqs that makes up each side and map. Leave the addme and lua where they are. Also, do not touch the addme unless you want to remove and era (study how to do this first).
Side setup is detailed in the jedi creation doc.
IF you want to edit shipped sides, go to the assets folder and copy the common folder from there and any of the sides you wish to edit. Then go to ModID(your project)/side and copy them into that folder. The side labeled "tur" contains all the data for map turrets. Leave it if you wish to use them, or delete it if you have no need for it.
