Unfortunately, I don't hex edit .lvl's, so that is something out of my power. Nobody hex edit's .lvl's anyway. Only if it's the mission.lvl. - EP-000782 "Wolf"
Basel Kran: Why would you not want to make a custom side? It's quite simple. If you wanted to change your game's rep.lvl you can't; It isn't accessible. (Don't think that it is, because it isn't)
ah its not accesible from the mod tools. but it is accesible via hex editor in c:/programfiles/lucasarts/StarWarsBattleFront2/data/LVL_pc/ dont you remember the countless side mods for swbf1? (there werent as many for swbf2) the only reason to do this tho is to replace units with another unit. and when u do this thru the rep.lvl file or for whatever side .lvl file it replaces ALL of them on ALL maps that use the unit u replace. hex editing is confusing tho. in order to hex edit anyways u have to have a proper hex editer. notepad isnt a hex editor. the swbf2 hex codes have 2 lines of seperate info or something like that. its hard to explain.
Wouldn't you just make a side_lvl using Modtools VisualMunge then replace the one in the Battlefront 2 sides folder?(Not recommended.)
yes thats what u would have to do and u would need to name the units req's the same as the ingame units so it would replace them on all maps. EDIT: OMG SO THATS HOW THEY GET THOSE CUSTOM UNITS THAT ARENT PREVIOUSLY IN THE GAME IN WITH HEX EDITS XD IVE BEEN WONDERING ABOUT THAT FOREVER!! LOL
