Well, it is good to see the gametoast FAQ back online, now I can check most technical issues I may have in there but...
I am a little un-inspired with my current map, I didn't want to reveal anything to have no "deadline feeling" but it is getting difficult to figure even with the proper documentation on expanded universe.
This is the thing, the map is a portion of Northern Dune Sea, that means uh, dunes, and maybe a moisture farm or two, but I think the map will be a little empty and the CPs will be really exposed and have no tactical covering with no buildings, I plan to add a sandstorm (I am a noob, so I am using tat_prop_dust), but I still think it lacks a lot...
Any suggestions? it will have speeders, tanks and probably a walker for REP/EMP, I will place a few of them among 4/8 CPs (the map is big).
Looks like I can't edit my own post, I just put a tat_hover_skiff because I thought it was a static platform, but then I realized it was a vehicle, after some chase I tried to use it, the pilot possition is OK, but when I tried to switch possitions my game crashed, the odf doesn't seem to have gunners, can I add any or work around that crash? it would be cool to have that vehicle in my map.
I can only edit a recently added post, or it seems so...
My map is going OK, except for some minor details, I tried to test a few vehicles but I am missing something, only the Barcspeeder and One Man ATST appear, I am supposed to add walkers in my Mode.lua, but I even tried copying chunks of shipped map modes having the vehicles and nothing, Fighter Tanks and ATTE's are still missing, any advice?
BTW, looks like I can kill forums just by posting on them...

Idea: Choose a different place to map. Dune seas by its very nature is supposed to be open and empty.
OK, I got a few things solved, as expected we need to put some memory pool stuff, I copied the ones from Geonosis to check upon the walkers and they work (minus the shipped sounds, but there is a FAQ about them in gametoast), I must say it was a little messed up, for fighter tanks it was a typo.
I know the dune seas are really empty, the main "aesthetic" issue in this map was not much the lack of buildings, first I am having difficulties with the sandstorm (the prop_dust is not working as before), and I think the borders lack some landscape, I recall Yavin 4 having trees in the background so I just need to find the way to put some dunes like that, for a portion of the map I can "move" the battlefield to the "beginning" of the northern dune sea, so I can put a few buildings in the edge.
It may lack some canon, I am not an expert on giving a background story, but I think there is a way, with the lack of buildings I am putting some Kashyyk barriers in command posts, so, basically this map can be a kind of mandalorian style "training" ground for clone troopers. For the empire... well I think it can't be, maybe after I finish the mapping (not the AI and stuff).
