I could not find an option to unbalance the teams. ...why would I want to do that you might ask???

Well, I'd like a map where it might be 4 players vs 10 bots?

Most games have that option to control how many people are on which side, and I was wondering if I missed something, or Star Wars Battlefront 2 was simply missing this option??? I've seen it done in some custom SWBF2 maps... where there are 30 Republics and 10 Jedis.

If there is no easy option to unbalance the teams, is this an easy thing to make a mod out of?

Go to Data_***/Common/scripts/***/***c_con or ***g_con(With the *** being your custom map name) Scroll down to this: SetupTeams{ rep = { team = REP, units = 20, reinforcements = 150 soldier = { "rep_inf_ep3_rifleman",9, 25}, assault = { "rep_inf_ep3_rocketeer",1, 4}, engineer = { "rep_inf_ep3_engineer",1, 4}, sniper = { "rep_inf_ep3_sniper",1, 4}, officer = {"rep_inf_ep3_officer",1, 4}, special = { "rep_inf_ep3_jettrooper",1, 4}, Now: units = 20, <(-------- change that to how many you want on the field reinforcements = 150,<(--------- Change this too how many total reinforcements (Numbers on top) soldier = { "rep_inf_ep3_rifleman",9, 25}, <(--- These numbers are min and max of the unit, so 9 minimum will spawn and 25 at the max. assault = { "rep_inf_ep3_rocketeer",1, 4},

Hmm, yes I saw those scripts in my custom map while using the VisualMunge tools.

But I don't want to make a new map.. well not just yet. I was hopping to make a mod that changes the current maps to have say 20 CIS and 5 REP or 20 IMP and 5 REB

Is that possible?

Hmm, I guess I can make a custom map for each original map. And then modify the script in each one.

I was just hoping there was a way to make a mod that would modify all the original maps.

I tried copying all the scripts from the assets folder into my data_ABC/common/scripts/ dir, but when a munged it and tested it, the original maps still played with an even number of bots on each team. :uhoh:

Are all mods really just new custom maps? I noticed all the documents and guides out there talk about how to make brand new maps and add things to those maps.

Well, if you want to change the number of players for all maps, copy all scripts into your scripts dir and all map-assets into your odf msh etc. folder, then chang the numbers and replace the original mission.lvl with the new one(make a backup).

Hmm, I wasn't really sure what you meant by map-assets... I'm guessing you meant all the folders from c:\BF2_ModTools\assets\sides and c:\BF2_ModTools\assets\worlds

Here's what I did... correct me where I went wrong.

1. Copied all folders from \BF2_ModTools\assets\scripts\ to \BF2_ModTools\data_ABC\Common\scripts

2. Copied all folders from \BF2_ModTools\assets\sides\ to \BF2_ModTools\data_ABC\Sides\

3. Copied all folders from \BF2_ModTools\assets\worlds\ to \BF2_ModTools\data_ABC\Common\Worlds

4. Modified the scripts... took a long time...

5. Munged it using VisualMunge. Select Sides "EVERYTHING". Also selected the Common box. (I also tried this with Sides set to "NOTHING" still no luck)

6. Made a backup of the \Program Files\LucasArts\Star Wars Battlefront II\GameData\data\_lvl_pc\mission.lvl to ./mission.lvl.bak (NOTE This file is 1225 KB)

7. Copied my new mission.lvl file from \Program Files\LucasArts\Star Wars Battlefront II\GameData\addon\ABC\data\_LVL_PC\mission.lvl to \Program Files\LucasArts\Star Wars Battlefront II\GameData\data\_lvl_pc\mission.lvl (NOTE This file is 114 KB)

8. Ran Battlefront 2, and select Coruscant map

The sides are still even:uhoh: What did I do wrong?

The new mission.lvl is way to small, it did not munge right, or something. Mission.lvl changes are difficult, I'd advise contacting a professional at scripts, and coding, like [RDH]Zerted.

Well, I'd like a map where it might be 4 players vs 10 bots?

There's already a map like that. Just For Fun Mappack, Star Wars Battlefront 2 Downloads, Star Wars Battlefront 2 Map Packs That's the mappack, one of those is called 4 player team work map, it's 4 players versus 600 Imperial AIs. If all you want to do is play it, give it a download. If you want to make your own, similar mod/map, you might want to contact the creator (somen00b) and ask him how he did it. I hope that helped!
