first download this Star Wars Battlefront II Mod Tools (PC), Star Wars Battlefront 2 Downloads, Star Wars Battlefront 2 Other and read the documentation it will help you, then post here for qs
You need to download the BF2 Modtools. And the effect, contrary to what Ty said, is not in the ODF. ODF means Object Definition File, and has nothing to do with effects except to cite them. The effect is a .fx file in sides/rep/effects. To get the jetpack model on, you'd need to hex-edit it onto the SBD's mesh via a hex-editor like XVI-32.
What I ment was you have to add the effect to the odf. The effect itself is a differant file.
there is no bf builder for bf2 its called modtoolsvisualmunge and it works differently then bf builder. read the documentation it explains alot of your questions
well, i downloaded the mod tools, but it wont let me enter the rep. msh. sides whatever (not sure how to say it). it shows a weird blue and white screen instead of a folder. i remember the name now its a jepack b2 battledroid. take a look and maybe thatll help a little?
*sigh* Did you read the shipped documentation? Because it sounds like you didn't. Read it. The blue and white screen you are describing is most likely ZeroEditor. You open .wld files with it, not .mshs, as the tutorials say. Read the tutorials.
I bet you're going to ask where the BF_Modtools (the BF2 equivalent of BF Builder) is. The answer is that it seems to me you are trying to mod without the modtools. Download the modtools.
wait so how can you re-skin stuff?
Woah. Just got back on-forum after that little drama of the past few days. Now I see my posts in this thread are all out of order. Please disregard them. To reskin stuff, you edit the TGAs in the msh folder. There are tutorials on this in this forum. And Gametoast. You need to learn how to set up a custom side first.
