And those maps were absolute garbage. If you don't have the game, you really shouldn't be making and submitting maps.

If you don't have the game, there's no way you can test your map, nor will you be able to find out if the final result actually is "good." Buy the game if you want to make maps for it; there's really no point, otherwise.

You can give your map to someone to test it for you before submitting. It would be better if you can test your work by yourself, though. That way you could see first hand what looks good and what needs to be fixed. Perhaps someone who lives close to you (neighbour or a friend) has the game and would be willing to help you. Maybe you could even borrow the game from someone.

Yeah thats what i was going to do... until I noticed the zero editor still doesnt work :(

Ok, so I have once again downloaded the bf2 mod tools and have it in he right place, but when i double click on the zero editor icon, it goes to that little load screen with pandemic's logo on it and then this thing pops up that says zeroedit.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close.

Download this tool and select Zero Editor.exe than check either the emulate HW TnL caps or the force SW TnL box (doesn't matter which one). Select run and ZE should work. Still its a much better idea to have the game if your going to mod. The props you place in ZE won't always show up like they do in game and if you don't know how the game is and runs than you can't make a great map. I would just pick up a copy of the game for yourself since its really cheap now, something like $9.99 US for a nice new SWBF2 DVD.
