Hello. I've been doing a bit of mod work and have been thinking about hosting some custom maps online. I was wondering if this was possible. I'm sure I could figure out how to use the server manager but would love a great tutorial. However, what I'm really asking, is it possible to host custom maps online? I've tried asking this on lucasforums but no one wants to answer me.

I'd appreciate any help! :uhm: Thanks.

Should be about the same as hosting a normal server with a default map, from what I've seen, but for people to join you custom map, they must ALSO have your custom map, and it must be the same version as you custom map is, so if you give someone your custom map, and then you change a unit or something in it, and they try to play with the older one they gave them. I don't believe it will work :/ So I recommend you completely your map. Then hand it out to your friends.

I also thing a description on how to host a server should be in your manual for Battlefront II. I hope you have a strong computer. Cause if it's not get ready for the lag when all your friends connect to the game. I also hope your internet connection is up to snuff.

Good Luck!

Oh. That makes sense. However, would it be possible to somehow edit a map such as mustafar and make some changes to it, and somehow re-export it as the same map? If that wasn't possible, would other people changes I make while hexing core.lvl (the string library to the map) without remunging?

If you have the SWBF2 mod tools, then you can load the stock mustafar map that comes with the mod tools and make your wanted changes and save the map.

You can mod all ground stock maps for SWBF2. Not sure of space maps thought.

Yes I have the mod tools and are familiar with them. However, I have not been able to re-export a map as MUS and call it Mustafar to make the application think it's mustafar; visualmunge tells me I can't use the names of the stock maps. Also, if there is a way to do this and I am able to put it on multiplayer, would the other players experience the same mods?

Thanks for your help!
