I getting Battlefront II for christmas and I would like 2 learn 2 mod it early, is there any tutorials on modeling the charactors, or making maps, export/import plugins 4 programs or anything else really, if so plez send links or feel free to post tutorials here. Sincerly Busterkinkade
hm.. I'm not sure but as there ain't any modding tools for bf2 yet, I suggest you can't expect any tutorials or whatever you wanted in near future... :(
I wish i knew how to hex-edit...I'm nearly there, I know how to get int othe thing that you edit, but not what to edit and what to.
spikything, search for the thing you want to change, and replace it with the thing you want to put in.
BusterKinkade, if you have any experience in BF1 modding it is probably very similar. There are no tools yet, but are expected with a patch after the New Year. It would probably be helpful to look for the BF1 modding tutorials on FileFront
I can almost guarantee that the SDK for BF 1 will work with BF 2. You might need some tweaking here and there. I'm full of it because the SDK hasn't finished D/L yet. But I'm HOPING I'm correct. Pandemic isn't going to change their editor that much if any. If you look at MOD editors this is how most of them seem to go. Being a veteran of GTK Radiant I'm confident modding for BF 2 wont be difficult, sooner rather than later.
I totally agree with you, I have been inspecting the LVL file format on both SWBF1 and SWBF2 files and the only thing different I've found is the collection of objects (voices, maps, characters, textures etc.) in their common and global files. To run BF1 maps on BF2 its just a matter of changing the hash IDs of each object to accomodate those of BF2. I've done that on several maps and they work! - Cepillin -
will you upload the bf1 maps for bf2?
Lauser, Cepillin, both wrong. SWBF1 mod tools are 0% compatible. Objects and models and skins have been converted back and forth with limits, but that's not the mod tools work. BFBuilder won't touch BF2. Everyone knows that.
