Right, where do I begin? Ok, I've started making a map called Isla Muerta (which means in Spanish, Dead Island. Cool, eh:)). This will function as a normal addon map, but will have a local team with a twist. The local team will be Dinosaurs! I'm not sure which Dinosaurs to use (or how to get some, for that matter), but I currently have one: a Dewback (which when reskinned will look preety similar to a Dinosaur). My original plan for the map:
- 16 normal cps
- Hoth dish turrets (near bunkers)
- A huge tunnel complex, as well as outside combat
- New units
- Kamino sky (without city) and rain
- Local team is Dinosaurs
Now for some progress (please try ignore the rain inside, as it will be fixed shortly. Some pics of the first unit I made, the Walking Inferno:
Now one of the tunnel complex:
One of the first cp underground:
A big cavern (not finished):
And finally a re-skinned Hoth Bunker:
If any of you guys out there have any comments, criticism or ideas, please post them here. Thanks in advance!
Are the Dinosaurs a local team that is enemy to all, or does it replace a team?
You may want to do something about the frozen bridge, maybe make that part of the skin all transparent or something...
That's true it does look out of place in the middle of that wet hot place.
@bobfinkl: The dinosaurs will act as a local team, and will be against all other sides.
@vampire_lord: Yeah, I haven't finished fully skinning all the objects yet, and will be working on it. And thanks for that time you told me how skin, and thanks for the millionth time ;]!
Any thoughts on my Walking Inferno?
If you talk about the soldier, I am not a fan of those shiny vivid colored skins, I prefer something like the usual stripes or camo skins, all depends on the environment I think...
Like what Vampire_lord said it's not that good to be like that, though the stormtroopers need it and it will be good camo this guy in the middle of a rainstorm just doesn't fit:uhm:
For one thing, why the hell is it raining underground? I'll try and find a tutorial on adding a rainshadow for you, cause I don't remember how.
Thanks, SlugMantheAlmighty. That would help tonnes!
