ok for some reason none of the stuff in the documentation folder in bf2 mod tools actually says what to do in great detail... it might explain SOME of the stuff, but im having lots of problems with my map that im sure are simple and easy to fix if only i had the proper instructions, but every time i go to a forum or something all the posts say to 'read the instructions' yet there arent any. I'm trying to put water on my map but the water keeps crashing my map because im obviously missing something, but i dont know what im missing, since i cant read up on it... i knw you guys will probably just tell me to 'go to gametoast' but gametoast is down.. and i dunno when its going to get put back up again either so thats no help... ive heard that there are possibly more complete instructions for editing maps in the swbf1 mod tools, but i don't even have that game so its pointless to dl the whole shibang.. if anyone can tell me where to go to ref this kind of stuff (besides gametoast) that would be cool :)
by the way.. a lot of my other stuff that i posted ended up in swbf1 forum somehow.. stupid thing.....
im sure the water is the problem... but like i said.. i can't fix it
edit sig? water still not working
all i really want to know is how to make objects and water load properly in the map so that it doesn't crash while loading (cant find anything on how to do this)
you are so damn right my friend... For a bit it made me think cloth was the texture and not the flowing, such was the lack of detail
http://forums.filefront.com/sw-bf2-modding-editing/279064-how-i-add-water.html You guys should actually search the freaking forums before making a new thread.
Guess what. All those experienced modders you want help from, read the docs and worked from there. The docs do work, they explain stuff quite well, read them as many times as necessary and use notes. The first people to mod Battlefront never even had the resources you have now, so if they say read the docs, they're right.
Also, even if you dont have SWBF1, the docs from its modtools covers alot of stuff not in the SWBF2 tools. So just download it and keep only the documentation and the assets folder (for vehicles and map objects not found in SWBF2). Which is well worth the download.
As Slugman said too, use the search function of the forums.
