yea i am a designer at heart, so i downloaded the 3ds Max trial and played around with it and i love it. so i went to buy it thinking "expensive" and found it is EXPENSIVE! I just wanted to know if it really is $3,000 or i'm on the wrong site or something?

It's quite expensive yes, $2.000-3.000 sounds about right. If your in college you might be able to buy a student version, I bought Maya through college for about €200,- or so.

Keep in mind that inly 6, 8 and 9 will work with EaW/FoC. The newest (2010 I think) will not.

G-max, though stopped with that after version 6 or 7 (they stopped with it in 2005). Or else there are indeed the trial versions.

On their website (discreet.com) should be all the info about their (3ds max) products.
